Helen Duong has over 37 years’ experience in commercial real estate. As a principal at Ronin Commercial Real Estate, she provides clients with expert advice on the leasing, acquisition, and sales of their commercial properties, as well as consulting on long range planning for their portfolios.
Helen began working in the industry as a financial analyst, and has worked as an asset manager, office and retail leasing agent, and corporate executive. At Boston Properties, a publicly traded REIT, Helen was responsible for lease administration for a portfolio of over 5 million square feet of office and retail properties in Northern California. Her breadth and depth of knowledge enables her to help clients accurately evaluate all facets of transactions, from physical due diligence, lease review and evaluation, through analyzing existing and projected cash flow.
Helen has extensive relationships with clients, vendors, contractors, owners and developers, and is well connected with the Asian community in the Bay Area. Her relationships have been nurtured through years of work, and through her involvement in the Bay Area community. As a result, she can help clients assemble the best team for any project.
Helen is a leader in both real estate industry and community service organizations. The Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network is the premier trade association for women in the real estate industry: Helen has served on the Board and as President of CREW’s San Francisco Chapter. She has been a key organizer of CREW Network’s national convention, held in San Francisco in 2010, and of two state-wide CREW California conferences hosted in San Francisco. Since 2013, she has served on the advisory board of Urban Solutions, a non-profit whose mission is to strengthen underserved neighborhoods by supporting small businesses, job creation, diversity and sustainability.
Helen served on the Board of the Silicon Valley American Red Cross from 2006 through 2012, where her fundraising efforts netted, in one year, over $90,000 with from the Heroes Breakfast event and another $260,000 from the Red Cross Gala. She served on the Board of the Viet Heritage Society from 2005 through 2010, working to preserve and promote Vietnamese culture through establishment of the Viet Heritage Gardens at Kelley Park in San Jose. She continues to raise funds for two schools in Vietnam with the VN Help charity group, and has worked with the Wheelchair Foundation to provide 26,000 wheelchairs to Vietnamese with disabilities. Since 2013, she has been on the advisory board of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP), and helped NAAAP young leaders organize the 2013 Leadership conference in San Francisco. In 2018 she was elected to the position of President of the Board of the Asian Commercial Professionals (ACP), an organization for Asian Americans to expand their professional network across a broad diversification of industries.
